A Cappella Quartet

Here are some places we like to visit.

Touchwood http://www.touchwoodweb.com/ An entertaining trio of mainly a cappella musicians from Sydney. Don’t forget to check out Kate’s site, with her amazing photographs!
JAM NSW folk music site http://jam.org.au/index.shtml Everything you always wanted to know about the NSW folk scene, from the NSW Folk Federation.
The Idea of North http://www.idea.com.au/home.htm Incomparable songstrels.
Melody Assistant http://www.myriad-online.com/en/products/melody.htm If you’re ever interested in considering music notation software, this is the one we use. It’s brilliant (or “awesome”, as Chris would say), and even includes an add-on, Virtual Singer, that will sing your arrangements back to you in a variety of languages, and in 4-part harmony. It can be tested and used for free as shareware, and the fully functioning version, with more bells and whistles than you could believe possible for the price, can be purchased for a song. We find it an excellent rehearsal tool. Once you’ve bought it, you’re entitled to free upgrades whenever the authors in Toulouse come up with new tricks.
The Mal Webb Site http://malwebb.customer.netspace.net.au/ One of our favourite performers, and a national living treasure.
Almost Acoustic and Club Acappella http://www.paddingtonuca.org.au/events.html Events held regularly in Paddington in Sydney. You may even see us there!
A-Cappella dot com http://www.a-cappella.com/ An American site where you can order obscure acappella CDs and sheet music.
